Sveti Lovrec nestles in the immediate hinterland of Vrsar and Porec. It is one of the best preserved medieval fortified towns in Istria. The town was named after the small church St. Lawrence built in the 8th century.
Lotus is one of two extant species of aquatic plant in the family Nelumbonaceae. It is often colloquially called a water lily. Lotus plants are adapted to grow in the flood plains of slow-moving rivers and delta areas.
